Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival
Protecting the Earth and preserving it for generations to come is at the forefront of our minds. Vasundhara, the international film festival that showcases films with an environmental conscience, is now a movement of its own. With quality films, presentations, talks and allied activities, all of which build the case for activist environmentalism, KVIFF is our attempt to reorient our minds and influence the policies of our country.
Empowering Communities Toward a Limitless Future
We, at Kirloskar Oil Engines, believe resilient communities are built through opportunity and self-reliance. Through our sustainable livelihood initiatives, we support skill development, entrepreneurship and community-led economic growth.
Our programmes focus on strengthening rural incomes while promoting responsible agricultural practices and inclusive participation in local development.
Vocational Training
Through vocational training initiatives, we help individuals build practical skills that strengthen rural livelihoods.
More than 2,300 people have participated in our training programmes, which cover areas such as backyard poultry, organic farming, manure making, tailoring, henna art, snack preparation, kitchen gardening and financial literacy.
These programmes equip participants with the knowledge needed to improve farming practices, start small enterprises and explore alternative livelihood opportunities.
As a result, farmers have begun producing natural and organic products and marketing them in nearby urban areas, contributing to stronger rural economies and sustainable agricultural practices.
Women’s Empowerment
Women’s empowerment is a key outcome of our livelihood initiatives. By creating opportunities for skill development and economic participation, we help women build confidence, financial independence and a stronger voice within their communities.
More than 200 women have established home-based businesses, generating additional income for their families.
As economic participation increases, women are also becoming more actively involved in Gram Sabha meetings and local development discussions, strengthening their role in community decision-making.
Through these initiatives, we continue to support women’s leadership and long-term community resilience.
Nature Restoration
Restoring natural ecosystems helps maintain ecological balance and healthier landscapes. Through our nature restoration initiatives, we work with communities, schools and partner organisations to increase green cover and promote environmental awareness.
Tree plantation drives and conservation activities help improve biodiversity, support soil conservation and create greener environments for future generations.
Through sustained community participation, we continue to encourage responsible environmental practices and support ecosystem restoration.
Kirloskar Vasundhara Eco Rangers
Environmental change begins with awareness and participation. Through the Kirloskar Vasundhara Eco Rangers initiative, we encourage young people and communities to take an active role in protecting the environment.
Working with schools and colleges, we organise activities, competitions and awareness programmes that promote sustainable habits and environmental responsibility. Initiatives such as the Eco Bazaar and Green College Clean College competition promote eco-friendly products and sustainable practices. The Eco Bazaar also provides a platform for women’s self-help groups to showcase environmentally friendly products while generating livelihood opportunities.
By engaging young minds and communities, we continue to encourage collective action toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.
